Occasional phrases of "St. Patrick's Breastplate" as extruded from the river rapids wash up and around between :30 and 3:00.

There are two segments where the ensemble plays with the ADAT (fifth and ninth segments).
Instrumentation should be lighter at the first four segments (bodhran and guitar only), add another string instrument (banjotar or guitar) during the fifth segment, and with the full ensemble (with acoustic bass) for the sixth through ninth segments.

FATHER HOGAN:
(after soundscape has established)
No climate is more delightful than the Missouri Indian Summer, usually ranging from the middle of September to the middle of November, when the blue azure sky, aglow with warm sunlight, appears mellowed and tinted by the calm autumnal haze that permeates the whole firmament, near and far away, in the immeasurable zenith and the limitless horizon. Then in the noiseless melody of nature, the little birds seem to forget their songs, the waving boughts of the forest lose their swaying motion, and the babbling brooks cease their clamor; so intent does creation seem to enjoy its siesta, during which the human mind yields much of its turmoil to the happy hour of prevailing restfulness.

MUSIC: Bagpiper begins from outside hall and plays as he walks away until inaudible. This music should be inaudible by 11:45.
Note: Open one of the doors in back of the theater to make sure this ambient sound makes its way to the audience. Piece ends with a fade out at 12:00.
